From a Manual to an Automated Recruitment Process

Why is automating the recruitment process so important for recruitment agencies? How do you get started? And what steps should you keep in mind when you want to simplify the hiring process? Wouter Verpoest, Product Owner at Minggo, explains.
Things you can easily automate in the recruitment process
You can actually automate nearly every step in the hiring process. It's relatively easy to ensure applications land directly in the right place in the ATS and that the candidate receives personalized, relevant questions during the application process.
6 tips to start with process optimization
#1 Start by mapping the recruitment process completely, for example through a workshop with an external expert.
#2 Break the process down into the smallest possible sub-steps. Define the steps clearly and don't make it too complex.
#3 Focus on the parts where you have the most administrative or manual work.
#4 Think from the process first, not from the software you're using.
#5 First look at the technology you already have in-house before looking for new technology.
#6 Dare to start. There's no harm in trying something out, even with a small group of candidates, and then adjusting afterward.
3 tasks every recruitment agency should digitize
1. Candidate registration
Create a landing page where the candidate registers digitally, with the information fed directly into the ATS.
2. Managing the candidate database
Ensure automatic matching and a workflow that keeps candidate information GDPR-compliant and up to date.
3. Scheduling appointments
This can easily be done digitally today, where the client keeps their calendar limitedly open and the candidate themselves picks the most suitable moment.
The role of the recruiter in 5 years
Technology is increasingly being used in a supporting role, with the recruiter remaining the driver of the process and able to focus on the interpersonal contact with client and candidate.
